Blog Task 2: Film Analysis

 Blog Task 2:

Language:

Lindsay Lohan's outfit is a typical 2000 teenage girl. The word mean suggests there will be a divide between the girls. As the word mean is in bold it could be exaggerated on what is going to happen in the show. Girl suggests the movie will be about teenage girls. The phrase 'WATCH YOUR BACK' shows there could be drama and danger throughout the show.

Audience:

From the look of the film poster, this looks like it would be targeted at predominantly teenage girls from age 13-17 or young women. This is due to the girls on the poster also dressed in pink , the colour pink is mostly aimed around girls.

Industry:

The film Mean Girls was produced by Paramount Pictures and Sonia Friedman Productions. The director of the film is called Mark Waters who also directed many other famous films for example; Freaky Friday, Just like Heaven , He's All That and Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past.

Representation:

The poster shows 4 girls in total , 3 of them who are standing together and 1 girl on the side. The 3 girls are represented as the 'mean' girls who are looking at the 1 girl by herself. The girl standing by herself could suggest she is intimidated by the 3 girls. The poster also infers that the girls are in high school. You can also see the hierarchy within all the girls as the 3 girls are in skirts and crop tops with heels , whereas the 1 girl is wearing jeans and a top with trainers.
