First blog task:
1) Which part of Media are you looking forward to the most?
The part of media I am looking forward to the most is, all the research we are going to be doing and learning deeper into media and how it all works.
2) What knowledge and skills do you hope to learn in Media?I hope to learn the ins and outs of how media works . Also learn about media I
have never heard about before.
3) What grade are you realistically hoping to achieve in Media?
Obviously I would like to achieve a grade 9 , but being realistic a grade 7 and above I will be happy with.
4) What device do you use most to access the media? (The media = news, TV, music, film, social media etc.)
I use my phone, I-pad and tv all the same amount. But probably my I-pad for watching the most media.
5) What is your average 'screen time' (or equivalent) on your phone each day. Is this about right, too little or too much? Why?
My average screen time a week is 8 hours which I don't think is that bad compared to people my age.
6) What was the last TV programme or film you watched?
The last tv series I watched was The Vampire Diaries and have watched over 11 times.
7) What device or subscription do you use to listen to music?
As I have an Alexa I like to use amazon music as it can connect to all my Alexa's i have in my house.
8) Do you play videogames? If so, what do you play games on and what is your favourite game?
No I do not play any videogames however I used to play Roblox which I would not class as a videogame.
9) Are you on social media? If so, what social media do you have and why do you like it?
Yes I am on TikTok and Instagram and I like both of them apps as when I am bored it entertains me although it can get addictive sometimes when you scroll for hours.
10) Finally, do you think the media is a positive or negative thing for young people? Why?
Personally I think it depends on age, if young children are on the media I think it could be negative because they are easily influenced and vulnerable. However , for older children i think it is acceptable if they know how to be mature on the media.

Why was the casting of Ncuti Gatwa a significant moment in the history of Doctor Who?
In doctor who , the old casting of the doctor was a middle aged white man however in the new show the doctor is a black man.
What aspects of this scene do you think an audience might enjoy? List at least three things and explain why the audience would enjoy each aspect.
Ncuti Gatwa brings a sense of comedy to the show and also is much more diverse compares to the 1963 series. Also shows the doctors struggles he faces throughout the show.
How is this scene constructed to tell the audience the history of Doctor Who? Think about the script, camerawork and acting.
There is many similarities from the old and new doctor who , for example the humour and the commentary is very alike.

In this genre of shows there is allot that you will find in most television dramas for example the tardis (time travelling machine) is found allot in them type of films/shows.

A doctor who fan may not like the different beginning of the new show this is because, in the new show there are serialized stories which go deeper into the characters. This was not shown in the 1963 doctor who?.
